In this episode, Evan Delaune is joined by Christopher “Click” Thompson, a renowned rodeo photographer whose work captures the grit, courage, and spirit of Western life. Raised in Virginia, Click’s journey began in 2010 when he photographed his first bucking bull - a moment that sparked a passion that turned him into one of the industry’s most respected photographers. Over the past decade, he’s documented some of the biggest rodeo events in the world, including the National Finals Rodeo, Cody Stampede, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Pendleton Round-Up, and the Calgary Stampede, earning recognition as the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Photographer of the Year twice. Beyond shooting action, Click tells the stories of the people and culture behind the rodeo, sharing his expertise through workshops and seminars, and dedicating himself to preserving the legacy of the American West. In this episode, he opens up about the rodeos that shaped him, what it’s really like shooting inches from the action, and why staying true to your passion matters more than anything.
