From Philology to the Foundry
Martini’s introduction to precious metals started long before her corporate career. Growing up in Arezzo, where the local economy has been tied to gold and silver since the Etruscan era, she spent her childhood summers working in her father’s jewelry trading business, assembling silver bracelets and packing inventory.
Despite this early exposure, her initial career ambitions lay in international diplomacy and translation. She pursued a Master’s Degree in Philology, studying the intricacies of language in St. Petersburg, Russia, and completing a cultural exchange at Florida State University. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic halted global travel, Martini pivoted. Returning to her roots in Arezzo, she took a role at an artisanal jewelry factory, managing everything from international client relations to packaging and invoicing. This boots-on-the-ground operational experience perfectly positioned her to jump to the institutional level at Italpreziosi.

At Italpreziosi, Martini represents a modern, highly ethical approach to the precious metals supply chain. Founded in 1984 by CEO Ivana Ciabatti, the company is a rarity in the industry–a female-founded, female-led LBMA refinery.
